Guardian Group donated over TT$250,000.00 to forty-five (45) Children’s Charities on Friday 10th December 2021. The distribution of cheques took place at Guardian Group’s Head Office, 1 Guardian Drive, Westmoorings.
SHINE (Securing Hope for those in Need) 5k and 10K Charity Walk and Run charity event is Guardian Group’s flagship charity fund raiser in Trinidad and Tobago and usually attracts over 5000 runners and walkers.
Since its inception in 2015, all proceeds from the race were donated to Children’s Charitable Foundations and Homes throughout Trinidad and Tobago. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic the Group was unable to host the race over the last two years, with the last race taking place in 2019, celebrating the 5th anniversary of the event. As a result of these restrictions, Guardian Group decided to SHINE differently in 2021 and continued our commitment to be the light in the lives of our nation’s children still prevailed. According to Ayesha Boucaud-Claxton - Head Group Branding and Communications, Guardian Group believes in fulfilling its obligation towards Children’s Charities and Charitable Foundations and continues to lend support.
Guardian Group’s SHINE 2021 initiative was a partnership with One Caribbean Media Limited (OCM), C&W Business and SM Jaleel (OASIS).
