In spite of the many challenges of 2020, including navigating a spike in unprecedented cases of COVID-19, the Grenada Tennis Association and Guardian General persevered and successfully executed the 26^th Annual Guardian General Insurance (OECS) Limited Junior Tennis Tournament.  

With the event initially postponed from December 12^th 2020, organisers were able to host sixty (60) talented youth competitors - aged 10 to 16 years old - in a socially distanced, outdoor environment, at Tanteen Tennis Courts in St. George’s.

Title sponsor Guardian General Insurance (OECS) Limited was very pleased to have provided this opportunity for exercise, camaraderie and controlled physical interaction among these young players over a period of ten days. 

 At the conclusion of the event on February 27^th, 2021, Elye Carmona emerged as the star participant, copping the coveted title of Most Outstanding Player.

 Mr. Bernard Wilson, President of the Grenada Tennis Association (GTA), and representative for Guardian General Insurance (OECS) Limited, expressed his high hopes for a 2021 edition of the tournament, as Grenada and the globe, accept and adjust to new norms:

“Nothing, neither Hurricane Ivan, nor Covid 19, has been able to sully our record of holding this initiative every single year for the last 26 years. I honestly believe that adversities should be used as learning opportunities, teaching us to find innovative and creative ways to face life’s challenges, and not as an excuse to wring our hands over the obstacles. I would particularly like to thank the parents and guardians, who made the additional sacrifices required, to allow the youngsters to participate in the event. My heartfelt congratulations to all winners and participants. Honestly, just being here makes you a winner over adversity!”
